Barbara Berlin is a director in PwC's Center for Board Governance. She is active in advising board and audit committee members on governance-related issues, providing them with the latest perspectives and practices to effectively meet the challenges of their critical roles.
Barbara co- authored, Directors and IT- What Works Best, Defining Risk Appetite in Plain English and Audit Committee Effectiveness--What Works Best, 3rd edition. She also co-writes PwC’s new Audit Committee Excellence Series, which provides practical and actionable insights and perspectives to help audit committees maximize their performance.
Barbara is also extensively involved in board-level education, having principal responsibility for the Center's annual Key considerations for boards and audit committee members seminar series, which is exclusive to directors of large multinational corporations. She also writes the related annual publication, Key Questions for Board and Audit Committee Members.
Barbara speaks frequently at director conferences. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Volker StaackVolker Staack is a Vice President, and Global Co-Lead for Innovation within PwC’s Strategy & consulting group.
He specializes in strategy, corporate finance, turnaround situations, and implementation of international mergers and acquisitions, with particular emphasis on the automotive and heavy equipment industries.
Before joining Strategy&, Volker was the Managing Director of Management Engineers’ U.S. business. Prior to that, Volker spent four years at Philips, where he was the commercial managing director of an international business unit. He also worked for BC Components, a global electronics supplier, where he led the capacitors division, a â‚¬200 million (US$256 million) business.
