VIRGIL WILLIAMSVirgil Williams is the Leader of Towers Watson’s SE Health and Group Practice, with offices in Atlanta, Tampa and Charlotte. In this role, Virgil has direct management of over 70 consultants, actuaries and clinicians serving large organizations in the design and management of employer-sponsored health and wellness programs. Prior to taking on this role, Virgil led the firm’s Health Care Delivery practice nationally and led the Health and Group Benefits practices in both San Francisco and Dallas. Virgil is one of the firm’s leading national experts specializing in the design and implementation of innovative health care strategies to improve benefits cost management and overall program performance. He is a subject matter expert in firm’s total rewards practice and works on some of the firm’s largest and most complex clients. His other areas of expertise include: customized health management and network optimization strategies, vendor negotiations, performance standard development and monitoring, ROI modeling, alternative funding analysis and data management strategies. Virgil has also helped clients develop global wellness programs and strategies that are supported by innovative incentive designs. Virgil has over 30 years’ experience in the employee benefits field. He has been with Towers Watson for over 16 years and in consulting for over 20 years. Before entering the consulting arena, he worked in the employee benefits field for such companies as CIGNA, Travelers and John Hancock in leadership roles in areas including network development and management, operations management, underwriting and sales/marketing. Virgil received a B.A. from Georgia State University.
