Tim Bentsen is a seasoned, successful business executive that has had the opportunity to work with leading businesses across multiple industries during his 37-year career with KPMG combined with significant roles in board governance. He currently serves on the board of Synovus Financial Corp., and was on the boards of RidgeWorth Funds and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts until their successful sales in July 2017 and July 2016, respectively. In addition to his board work, Tim currently serves as an Executive-in-Residence and part-time instructor in the Masters of Accountancy program for the J.M. Tull School of Accounting in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia (2013 – today).

RidgeWorth Funds merged in the Virtus Funds in July 2017.
Synovus Financial Corp. – elected in April 2014 to the board of Synovus Financial Corp., a $30 billion bank holding company doing business in five Southeastern states. Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Risk and Executive Committees.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. – joined the board of this iconic, global brand in 2014 and served through the sale of the company to a private investor in July 2016. Member of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Brown founded The Edgerton Group, a boutique consulting firm that advises boards and management on critical corporate governance issues including anti-activist defense, executive compensation and other proxy disclosures, board evaluations and shareholder engagement. Formerly, he was CEO of the Society of Corporate Governance and managed TIAA’s corporate governance group and led the corporate governance and social responsibility initiatives related to the firm’s over $800 billion investment portfolio. Prior to TIAA, Mr. Brown practiced securities law at WilmerHale and Skadden and was an associate with Goldman Sachs. He has served as a judge for Corporate Secretary Magazine Corporate Governance Awards and the NYSE Governance, Risk & Compliance Leadership Awards.
Mr. Brown is an adjunct professor at McDonough School of Business at Georgetown, Yale, and in the Skadden, Arps Honors Program in Legal Studies, Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at City College of New York. He received his B.A. with honors from Yale and his J.D. from Columbia University Law School where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He serves on several non-profit boards and is an elected public school board member.
Julio has 20 years of management consulting experience focused on strategy formulation; marketing, sales and service strategy and transformation; and enterprise analytics. During his career, Julio has served clients across multiple industries including consumer goods, retail, health care, telecommunications and energy. Julio has also been responsible for building multiple consulting practices including marketing sciences, customer analytics, customer contact transformation, marketing transformation and enterprise analytics. Julio’s most recent role was the North America Lead for a $1B+ analytics’ business where he was responsible for cross-industry and cross-functional analytics including analytic strategy, advanced analytics, BI and Enterprise Information Management. Julio has worked with clients across the globe including North America, Europe and Asia. He has multiple patents and patents pending for both customer experience and analytics. He has also been cited in multiple periodicals including the Financial Times and Forbes. Julio has a BBA from Emory University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Customer Segmentation: Global Computer Manufacturer and Retailer. Developed a customer strategy that segmented customers according to their needs and value to the business. Translated the customer strategy into distinct branded customer experiences for each customer segment across a multi-channel environment – an approach focused on the critical integration of multiple business functions including marketing, sales, service, IT and finance.
Consolidated Marketing, Sales and Service: National Branded Energy Company. Designed a shared services marketing, sales and service center to deliver a more effective and efficient customer facing organization. Effort included designing channel interaction strategy, process redesign, new compensation and measurement approach, and refined field enablement.
