Lee ThomasLee Thomas is the Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office, a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. A native Atlantan, Lee graduated from Marist School and then went into the Radio -TV -Film program at the University of Georgia. She received a Bachelor of the Arts in Radio -TV -Film from UGA, and returned to Atlanta to earn Master’s Degree in Film Studies from Georgia State University. In 1992, she entered the Tisch School of the Arts Doctoral Program in Cinema Studios at New York University, then began a job at the Brooklyn Arts Council. She returned to Atlanta in 1996 to work for the Georgia Film and Videotape Office as a project manager, and then became a location specialist for the office in 1998. After finding locations for film and television projects for 12 years, Lee became director of the film division in 2010, and was then promoted to Director of Film, Music & Digital Entertainment in 2011. Films that Lee has worked with include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Blind Side, Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, Footloose, Fast 5, The Conspirator, and Zombieland.
Kris BagwellIn the summer of 2015, Governor Nathan Deal appointed Bagwell to the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office Advisory Board. Bagwell also serves on the Advisory Board for the Georgia Film Institute at Southern Crescent Technical College. Bagwell established himself early in the industry with an 18-year stint at Viacom’s MTV Networks, Inc. where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nickelodeon MediaWorks, Nickelodeon’s Magazine and Online Groups. He also worked as Vice President of Business Development, and Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing. After Viacom, Bagwell pursued an entrepreneurial media path, founding Pancreations, Inc., a medical documentary production company. He also co-founded Rocking Horse Media, Inc., an Atlanta-based family and parenting media company, and VerticalPortals, LLC, a New York-based online media company. Bagwell holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Cornell University and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society. He also served on the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JRDF) Georgia Chapter and JDRF International’s Marketing Committee. He has been featured on Fox News Channel and CNN. He was born in Atlanta and has two sons.
John B. RauletJohn Raulet is Vice President of Raulet Property Partners and a member of the Mailing Avenue StageWorks, LLC ownership team. With the advent of the Georgia Film and Entertainment Tax Credit, John has worked with several companies in the motion picture business in regards to their real estate needs for major motion picture studios and offices in the Atlanta area. Such clients include: Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, HBO, Tyler Perry Studios and EUE Screengems. John was recently awarded the 2010 Alvin B. Cates Award from the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. This award is awarded to the Broker for the most outstanding real estate transaction for the year. John received this award for brokering a 50-year lease between the City of Atlanta and EUE Screengems at the historic Lakewood Fairgrounds property south of Atlanta.
Susan PaleySusan Paley is Chapter Advancement Officer for the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the nation’s largest organization devoted to advancing exemplary board leadership. She and her team work with NACD’s 22 U.S. chapters to deliver world-class education programs to 17,000 director members and other stakeholders in the governance community. Prior to joining NACD, Paley spent two decades working for global media organizations. As a producer for C-SPAN, she covered Congressional, White House, and Supreme Court events. In 1998, she helped to launch BBC America. At Discovery Networks, Paley managed international client relations and wrote and produced programs for broadcast in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She was also founded her own communications firm, which included the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank among its clients.
